Hydroseeding (residential)

Earthcraft Companies completed finish grading and hydroseeding for a residential property in London, Ohio, establishing grass quickly around a new pool installation while stabilizing steep slopes to prevent erosion before permanent ground cover could take hold.

The Challenge

A new pool installation left the surrounding area disturbed and bare, with several severe slopes on the property that made getting grass established both urgent and difficult. Without ground cover in place, the exposed slopes were vulnerable to erosion from rain events. The homeowner needed a fast, effective solution that would stabilize the soil, protect the new pool area, and get grass growing as quickly as possible.

What We Did

Earthcraft finish graded the area around the pool to establish proper slopes and drainage, then prepared the soil to create an ideal seed bed for germination. Once the ground was ready, we hydroseeded the full area - applying a mixture of seed, mulch, and tackifier in a single pass that coats the soil, locks in moisture, and gets grass establishing faster than traditional seeding methods. Hydroseeding was the right call for this site given the slope severity, providing immediate soil stabilization while the grass took root.

The Result

The homeowner got grass established quickly around the new pool, with the hydroseeded coverage protecting the slopes from erosion throughout the germination period. The finished yard came together cleanly alongside the pool project, leaving the property stable, green, and ready to enjoy.
