Hilliard 270 & Cemetery Rd

In spring 2024, Earthcraft Companies completed a hillside clearing and hydroseeding project along the US-270 and Cemetery Road corridor in Hilliard, Ohio, in partnership with the City of Hilliard. This high-visibility stretch is traveled by thousands of Central Ohio commuters daily.

The Challenge

The hillside along this corridor had become overgrown and erosion-prone, with exposed slopes at risk of continued soil loss along the roadway. The grade and soil conditions made traditional seeding impractical, and the project required a solution that could establish vegetation quickly and hold the slope through wet spring conditions.

What We Did

Earthcraft's crew handled full land clearing of the hillside, removing overgrowth and preparing the slope for treatment. Once the ground was prepped, we applied a hydroseeding mix suited to the grade and soil type, a fast-germinating blend designed to take root quickly and provide lasting erosion protection. The project required careful equipment positioning along an active roadway corridor and was completed on schedule.

The Result

The corridor went from an overgrown, eroding hillside to a clean, stabilized slope with active vegetation establishing across the full treatment area. The result is visible from the roadway and provides long-term erosion protection for the surrounding infrastructure.
