Drainage & Ditch mowing

Earthcraft Companies restored a heavily overgrown roadside ditch in Brown Township, Ohio, using a specialized forestry mower attachment to clear vegetation, improve drainage flow, and restore safe driving conditions - all completed in a single pass from the roadside.

The Challenge

A roadside ditch had become severely overgrown with vegetation, obstructing water flow and creating hazardous conditions for drivers. Overgrown brush and trees encroaching into the right of way reduced visibility and clearance along the roadway, while the blocked ditch was no longer able to move water efficiently. The township needed a solution that could address both the drainage obstruction and the right of way vegetation in a safe, cost-effective way without requiring lane closures or extensive ground disturbance.

What We Did

Earthcraft utilized a forestry mower attachment on our excavator to cut and shred the overgrown vegetation throughout the ditch from the roadside. The forestry mower allowed us to clear the full ditch profile, remove encroaching trees and branches hanging into the right of way, and restore proper flow channel all in a single pass. Because the excavator arm extended out from the roadside, the entire operation was performed safely without equipment entering the ditch or requiring traffic disruption.

The Result

Brown Township got a fully cleared ditch and a clean right of way in one efficient, cost-effective operation. Water flows freely through the restored ditch, the hazardous overgrowth along the roadway was eliminated, and all work was completed safely from the roadside without disrupting traffic or disturbing the surrounding area.
